Nicolaas Walle & Lisa Patscheider

Scorpio

Since the release of my latest single, "Scorpio," I've been delighted by the response it has received. The track was included in Hot Press' list of new Irish songs to hear, where they praised it as a unique blend of "macabre surf, 70s arena rock, Bossa Nova brushstrokes", and "prog-adjacent propulsions". They described it as a "song you never want to end," highlighting the sunny guitar, full-bodied vocals, and “captivating” bassline.

Listeners have also shared wonderful feedback, which has been echoed by Music Crowns in this review. They described "Scorpio" as an "impressive genre-blending" track that showcases "musical prowess and innovative vision," noting how it fuses elements of prog, blues, jazz, funk, and indie. They also highlighted the collaborative nature of the track, which was created remotely with Austrian singer Lisa Patscheider, and called it a "groovy and atmospheric piece" that celebrates creativity and genre fusion.

"Scorpio" was also added to the IMRO New Music Playlist, and I was honored to be featured in this interview on RTE Entertainment, where I had the chance to discuss the song, my qualifications, and what I do as a music and audio professional.
